The bad news is that I am one of those people who frequently seems to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. The good news is that it doesn't always cause me bodily harm, or harm to anyone else…which means that sometimes it does.
So, these are the actual Chronicles of Judy, a compilation of blogs, all of which, believe it or not, are true. Many were written in the first year or so since I moved to California to start life over after my life-changing event. I have been adding new misadventures every so often (so it's a good idea to sign up for emails!), since, heaven forbid, you miss a new one!
People told me they admired me, that I was a role model for anyone who wants to “begin again,” but really, I was just slightly crazed from my gray divorce after 38 years of marriage (to the same person). I decided that if I had to start my life over at 58, I may as well start over with where I lived.
I was done with the freezing temperatures and the mountains of snow that arrived in November and didn't leave until late March, or sometimes even April. I'd been traveling to Southern California for a couple of years to visit my son and his family, who'd moved here. What's not to like about Southern California?
In the first five years I lived in Orange County, there were about four rainy days. Of course, we had a terrible drought, but I was still thrilled when I awoke every day to bright sunshine and perfect temperatures…and I did conserve water.
When I moved here, I knew exactly five people: my son, daughter-in-law and my two grandsons, plus one of their friends that I sat with at the boys' football games.
I hope you will find them as fun to read as I found them fun to write.
And as I said, they are all true, and with NO exaggeration!
Please enjoy these, and more will be posted.
